Training Camp
Your Shift 21 journey begins and ends with Windhorse Farm, a 150 year old farm and sustainable forestry centre in the LaHave River Watershed at Wentzell Lake in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.
At Windhorse farm, we tangibly explore the connections between different parts of our lives. Planting on the farm puts food on our table; building a solar panel or wind turbine and cutting wood from the wood-lot gives us energy to heat and light our buildings. During international placements, thought and action are connected practically by experiencing a range of work environments and fields. Students are prepared to navigate the challenges of a changing global society with a strong sense of themselves and their values. Whatever path you choose, you will be equipped to bring to your work a sense of creative personal development and achievement.

Global Partners
In addition to a unique and beautiful "base campus" in Nova Scotia, students benefit from an international faculty with wide-ranging academic, artistic and professional experience. Our instructors in every partner country share a commitment to self-study and contemplative practices that help to create, model and sustain the unique educational environment that distinguishes our bridge year program.
Our strong vision, commitment and leadership in integrated approaches to education draws a diverse, international community of visiting teachers and artists to the campus in Nova Scotia. Students will also benefit from interactions with the people who form the organizations and communities they will be living in and working with in Canada and overseas.
